Webinar Description:

IThe pandemic brought significant disruption to our world. We have faced global crisis before, the most recent, the financial crisis of 2008, where economies rapidly went into recession and unemployment reached new highs. However, hope appeared quickly as we saw great advances in technology, - mobile connectivity, wearable devices, and the rise of the electric car. Organizations began to focus on ways to transform their business models by harnessing digital advances to improve productivity and build diverse organizations as multiple generations worked together.

Despite great economic progress, critical problems still prevail, and the COVID-19 pandemic has magnified these issues. We must find ways to keep aligning individual and organizational needs in this changing environment. We have an opportunity to fully harness the power that a dynamic workforce provides to build genuinely inclusive, healthy productive and sustainable organizations. The stage is set. We, as HR professionals and business leaders, have critical roles to play in anticipating the needs that new business models will require. We have a role to play in building organizations and driving transformations which truly enable people and businesses to thrive. In this session we will discuss the crucial factors to consider as we respond to these new business models.

We have come full circle from the self-managed teams of the 80’s to the buzzword of 2010 - Employee Engagement. WEBINAR: "Navigating Complex and Uncertain Workplaces Using 3D Thinking "

Join us on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 12:15pm - 1:15pm (ET) for a webinar with speaker Matt Kutz.

This program was submitted or 1.0 for both SHRM Professional Development Credits (PDC) and recertification credits from HRCI.

Login information for Zoom will be provided at the bottom of your email confirmation.

Webinar Description:

Contextual Intelligence introduces a unique three-dimensional (3D) thinking model of integrating hindsight, insight, and foresight, which helps to be better prepared for complexity and volatility. The world is experiencing an unprecedented pace of change requiring what renowned microbiologist Louis Pasteur called a "prepared mind." Being prepared to lead in today's world means we all must embrace thinking differently about leadership. This workshop is designed to help participants think holistically about their experiences and biases and describes how context (in all its facets) is a major determinant of leadership behaviors and expectations. Too often leadership becomes a passive process based on outdated models or irrelevant experience. The goal of this workshop is to help participants understand leadership from the perspective of a context-rich and fluid environment, and offers a framework to understand and organize the various complexities and speed at which information is evaluated.

Webinar Description:

In Michael’s webinar, as a precursor to his keynote, he will share some of the rules and processes that are traditions of top-down autocratic leadership that he believes should change. He will share what they are and what he has found to be better solutions in his experience as an Entrepreneur, Consultant, Keynote Speaker and Fortune 100 Senior Executive. Some of the topics he will cover include:

  • Performance Appraisals: He believes there is a better solution than traditional performance appraisals that leads to far higher performance, motivation and retention.
  • Developing and Training First Time Managers: When do we train our Managers? The answer Michael gets most often is “Never” and at best “After they are promoted”. He will take you through his 10 Steps to Developing and On-Boarding First Time Managers that helps ensure you promote the right people and prepares them to be successful in their new role.

MAY 2023 Excursion: Tobacco Bay Beach day

    Location: St George , Bermuda
    Date: Monday, May 15, 2023
Time: 8:00 AM to 05:00 PM

Tobacco Bay Beach: A Slice of Paradise in St. George’s

Located in historic St. George’s Parish on the island's East End, Tobacco Bay Beach is a must-visit for anyone who wants to experience a quintessential Bermuda beach.

Public beachs in Bermuda are typically at "no cost." It does not cost you anything to go on the beach; however, you know there is always a cost. Here is what you can expect your out of pocket costs to be:

  • We'll meet outside of the ship on Monday morning - time is TBD.
  • We'll walk over to the Ferry area and purchase a tocken to take us to St George's - approximately $5.00 each way
  • Once we arrive at St George's we'll need to get to Tobacco Bay in one of two ways: (1) Buy a ticket for a minibus, which leaves roughly every 30 minutes from the St. George’s visitors center at King’s Square. or, (2) you can walk – it takes about 20 minutes from King’s Square to get to the beach. Just ask the folks at the visitors center for directions - or follow the folks from Aspect!
  • Once at Tobacco Bay Beach - there is a fine established called "Tobacco Bay" where you can rent a beach chair/umbrella ($20?) and eat/drink at the establishment.
  • Enjoy the beautiful beach at Tobacco bay

  • I specifically selected Tobacco Bay as it is beautiful, rather easy to get to, and we'll enjoy the beach on day 1 of Bermuda. This prevents us from having any anxiety about getting back to the ship if we miss the ferry as we can always take a cab!
Register at no cost - we just would like to have an idea of how many guests will be joining us.
